Buy It Installed‘s $6.6 million Series A round enabled the company to hire some key executives (see related update on Buy It Installed). The company created an e-commerce button that enables online shoppers to buy products, complete with installation.

In addition to bringing on global investor, Grant Van Cleve, as CEO, the company also hired David Pourjahan as senior director of sales and product development.  Pourjahan was most recently director of business development at and was manager, advertising strategy and operations, at for more than six years. Rakuten – reportedly the largest e-commerce retailer in Japan –  acquired for $250 million in cash in 2010, according to news reports.

It also hired Jay Sweeney as vice president of finance. Sweeney came from a string of San Francisco and Los Angeles-based startups, including ProducePay in Los Angeles. That’s a tech-based, cash flow service that provides access to distribution and financing for domestic fresh produce growers and their foreign counterparts who ship to the U.S.

And it obtained Arvinder Singh to head up its technology division “after years of building reputable teams through local star, PB Systems in Irvine, acquired by  by Ebix Consulting,” Van Cleve said.(PB Systems provides IT services).
